Champoluc is part of the stunning MonteRosa Ski. In MonteRosa Ski, there are mountains everywhere so the lifts take you up and then you ski down the valley. Initially I found this somewhat unsatisfying, but after a while you appreciate the stunning views, the wide, fast and empty slopes and enjoy the whole experience. Visited Les Arcs 1600 in March and December 2007/8 season The Village Arc 1600 was one of the first purpose built ski resorts in the Alps and it benefits from the dreams of those early visionaries. The resort is compact. It has a single car free main street with shops off both sides and a public square lined with shops and restaurants facing a bandstand which hosts open air events in the spring and summer.
