Apres ski hot spot of Tyrol! This little town is popular with young people from Holland, GB and lately Eastern Europa because it has a lot of pubs and bars in town and on the slopes. It reasonably priced for it's hotels and guesthouses. It is not as chic and populair as it's neighbour Kitzbuhel, but a whole lot more charming. They do share the same skiarea. It's quite big too! Just got back from Val Thorens. The conditions were excellent last week, with a thick layer of fresh snow and clear blue skies. I have to say it was very very crowded. Waiting time for the central gondola was more than 20 minutes! We stayed at Pierre en Vacances, right along the slopes. From the balcony we had a magnificent view over the mountains and slopes. Solden is an absolutely wonderful place to ski. the ski area is large. a bit spread out. the more you get yourself familiar with the ski area, the more you like it. it is a skiers mountain, there are better choices if you are with a family. skiing on the double funitel when conditions are good is some of the best skiing in the alps. the glacier is a beautiful place to ski, with normally always good snow conditions. solden can get crowded, which can be a problem. the town is not the…
