Latest ski resort reviews

Have skied at La Tania on two occasions. The last was New Year 2006/2007 when the snow was supposed to be awful according to all the reports. I have to say the snow making facillaties made up for the lack of snow and the sheer variety of runs in the Trois Vallees meant that we had a superb week with generally good skiing. On the downside, if you want to explore the whole area, La Tania is a little bit out on a limb. Coming back from Val Thorens/Les Menuires can be a bit of a rush…

Verbier rocks! We stayed in the Belette apartment. Fantastic location near the medran lift and Camilla the chalet host was brilliant. Food was excellent and the accommodation was very comfortable. The skiing is some of the best in Europe. To get the best of it I definitely recommend hiring a local guide (try La Fantastique). I skiied with Jo Morelli who is a well known guide and seems to like his helicopters. Fun but not cheap! Some of our group had lessons with the European Snowsport…

We visited Bansko last year, in the low season and had a fabulous time. The skiing was great for intermediates and it was not crowded at all. It really is excellent value for money. Some of the mehanas in the old town are lovely and the food was delicious. We stayed at Chalet Rozov (fantastic!), on the outskirts of Bansko, so it was nice and peaceful, although there were bars around and there was a shuttle bus to the Bansko apres-ski if we wanted it! We'll be back next year!
