After a season in the 3 valleys I have spent my last 4 trips in the Verbier ski area, staying in Les Collons, Verbier itself, and La Tzoumaz. My verdict is that it is overrated. The lift system above Verbier itself is good, but means everyone ends up on the same pistes. The links between the resorts are slow-why can't they replace the double drag lift above Siviez to get you over to Les Collons and Veysonnaz. What other world class resort still has T bars? The best ski area is definitely on the La Tzoumaz side if you are an intermediate-then there is endless fun on snowy days runnning down off piste between the trees.
