La Tzoumaz is part of the Quatres Vallees ski area, connected to better-known Verbier by pistes and lifts but significantly cheaper. Its a relatively high base station at 1500m. With about 50Kms of north-facing pistes and, snow permitting, a 10Km toboggan run, its an intermediates area, although there is a heliport where adrenalin-junkies are lifted to and from the glacier skiing. Its probably best suited to on-piste intermediates rather than learners or off-piste hounds and would suit families and couples who just like to potter around.
