First of all I have to say I LOVE Kirchberg, but it might be good to highlight some of it\'s downsides. The biggest problem is that the Kirchberg-Kizbuhel-Pass Thurn skiarea does not provide many challenging slopes. The majority of the slopes are easy reds. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found in Gerlos and the Zillertal Arena and I will try and sum up our experience by listing the positives and negatives. To give it some context, we are in our early thirties and are advanced skiers. Positive aspects: Gerlos sits at the centre of the largest linked ski area in the Zillertal. The village is small, easy to get around and family-friendly (especially for Dutch families, since ski school employees speak a little Dutch). Skiing was good fun. Only 60kms of piste, but a good variety of greens/blues and reds/blacks. Low on the mountain enough easy terrain for family-skiing without having to stay on the kids-run in the village.
