Top-rated ski resort reviews

Great high altitude resort for beginners and intermediates. Few challenging runs for higher intermediates and experts. Good potential for off piste adventures given the right conditions. Too many drag lifts on the higher slopes limits access for snowboarders. Also the snow park was closed all week. The resort was very quiet the week we were there so night life / apres was quiet too.

Zell is part of the Zillertal Arena ski area, which consists of the linked area of Zell, Gerlos,Konigsleiten & Gerlosplatte. This gives a ski area greater and I my opinion better than nearby Mayrhofen. Runs through out the area are predominately red with a few blacks,Gerlos having a few blues. It is not in my opinion a beginners area but is great for intermediate level skiing. Like Mayrhofen, Zell does not have a "home" run so you must use the gondola to go up and down. I…

Having just returned from a long weekend in Foux, I can honestly say that it is my favourite resort in the Southern Alps. The conditions were fantastic after the recent dumps of snow and I skied fresh tracks for 3 days, on a weekend too! There is a vast and varied selection of off piste for those who are keen to explore a little. The pisteurs are helpful and knowledgeable about where the best and safest conditions are.
