Valmeinier was fantastic for a good value family skiing holiday. Most accommodation is slopeside or a 2 minute walk at most. Slopes were well maintained. Queues big first thing in the morning when ski schools going up, but fine thereafter. Runs were easy. Link to Valloire very slow, even slower getting back by chair as it was not possible to ski the circuit back. All in all it's a nice picturesque resort but it's not that big.

The area is huge you have a big choice of different lifts, slopes and freeride opportunities. For freeriding go under the 150er Tux very steep long powder runs. The penken funpark is very famous in Tirol. Good kickers, rails and obstacles for beginners and experts. You will find every different kind of slopes even the steepest prepared slope of Austria is there. The slopes are long and wide and most of them are on the sunny side. There are many beautiful huts where you get very good…
