Valmeinier was fantastic for a good value family skiing holiday. Most accommodation is slopeside or a 2 minute walk at most. Slopes were well maintained. Queues big first thing in the morning when ski schools going up, but fine thereafter. Runs were easy. Link to Valloire very slow, even slower getting back by chair as it was not possible to ski the circuit back. All in all it's a nice picturesque resort but it's not that big.

If I had a serious complaint about the resort it would be that final run back to the base area, this always being crowded, cut up and was in poor condition due the number of people of very different standards using it. I would not recommend to anyone who has been to larger resorts, or who has a larger budget - you can get better skiing in the pur
