As an intermediate skier with beginner children, we had a fantastic time skiing and also sledging in Abetone. The slopes were varied and through beautiful scenery. Perhaps an advanced skier would find Abetone a bit limited as an area to ski.Abetone is not so touristic so I didn't feel as if I was being ripped off being a foreigner there. Maybe the only disadvantage of this is that there weren't many apres-ski activities throughout the place. Btw Abetone is close to Pisa airport.

For cross-country skiers and fans of trips on snow raquets,…

Grossarl is a beautiful place in a special landscape not only in winter also in summer for walking. The ski area is also connected with the area of Dorfgastein so you have a huge and very interesting area for skiing. You can buy for the whole Gasteinertal one ski pass so you can change the areas, but each area is big and interesting enough for itself. Most of the slopes are red and blue. The mountains in this area are kind of soft in comparison to Sportgastein for example, and because…
