We stayed in Oberlech. I have been to St Anton a few times over the last few years and decided to go with my wife and another couple to Oberlech, as I had always been impressed by Lech etc. I could not beleive how good everything was - the service standards (hotel/restaurants/lift staff/ski instructtors) were the best I have ever experienced in the Alps. Argentiere is a very pretty village with good restaurants & bars. The ski area of La Tour is limited but with nice long reds & blues. The Grands Montets offers some great off-piste skiing. Flegere nearer Chamonix had more testing slopes. Les Grand Motets good but busy. Chamonix itself seems to be unsure whether it wants to be Megeve, or Soll. Entire valley seems to be geared to climbers and ski lift systems are RUBBISH - slow, old and inadequate. Queue city. Ski in/ski out…
