Schladming gave us our cheapest half term skiing: Easyjet to Salzburg and an excellent train to Schladming; we stayed with Frau Meier at Pichl, bed and breakfast, fixed through the Tourist Office, and she was happy to give us breakfast again for supper. We were therefore at the Reiteralm/Fageralm end of things where the skiing is both better and quieter. The package groups are in Planai itself where the uplift is faster and more modern but there are correspondingly many more people and sometimes it was swarming. The four entry points are not all that well-linked on the mountain and you have to come down to the valley so it is not all that tempting to ski right along the resort and back, unle
