It is a wonderful little town that is very friendly and welcoming. Insofar as skiing was concerned, well, my wife and children all loved it, while I pottered around exploring on my own account. I felt that as a competent skier there was much more than was immediately apparent and that I should invest in a few days ski-school to open up the possibilites that a tourist just will never discover for themselves unless very lucky. The runs are limited although perfectly groomed and some challenging reds and blacks. Boy do they know how to look after the runs with snow making all day every day. All groomed again ready to play for the next day too so its like constant dusting of pow. I love the Scandinavian board parks with many visits to Hemsedal(Norway) but gotta say that the park in Ruka was brilliant with kickers of all sizes up to the booter for the big boys. Klein skigebied met mooie pistes voor de gemiddelde skier. Doordat het hoog gaat (2650mtr) zijn er een aantal mooie lange afdalingen. De zwarte pistes zijn niet echt zwart. De Talfahrt is lekker lang en goed te skien. De Eisbar aan het einde van de Talfahrt is een gezellige apres ski bar met redelijke prijzen.
