I found this area very good. Both for reasonable red runs and cross country. Niederau -one of the villages in the schonau area- is a very friendly little place, pretty, traditional chalet style buildings, unspoiled with quiet roads. Slopes - As a first timer I have nothing to compare with but it does seem odd that Niederau is sold as beginner\'s resort since there are no long blues. Most visitors, like me, seemed to be complete beginners, so the nursery slopes were fine for the first…

Weinig zwarte pistes. Alleen Bettmerhorn (tunnel) en de Eggishorn is enigzins zwart. Kom hier reeds 10 jaar met veel plezier.

Gstaad - A fantastic resort: I have been going there much of my life, and am still enjoying it. Let me list for you a few strengths and weaknesses; Strengths: Varied choice of slopes, and if you get bored of the local 250 kms, you can always trip to Diablerets/Villars (40 mins) or Adelboden/Lenk (20 mins) which opens up 400kms more. You will NOT get bored. You don't ski or board - then you can shop in numerous posh shops, do day trips, gourmet dine, etc. In the past few years the…
