Just came back from trip #5 to Lech/Oberlech. Snow was great, accomodations at Pension Sabine excellent, food fit for a king ... only complaint was the unprofessional and unreliable service of the Der Lecher Taxi service. Charged more than on the reservation for me and on the following day left my first time visitor in the lurch, forcing him to carry his two bags through the tunnel and over the snow while I was waiting for him at the tunnel entrance to make his arrival a 'treat'.…

Just back after Feb/08 1/2 term. Group of 17 of us stayed at Hotel Alpenrose in Galtur with Inghams (would recommend) - bus stop outside; 5 mins to Wirl slopes, 10 mins to Ishgl. Wirl great for beginners and first day of holiday to get those ski legs working! Lovely wide slopes, nice restaurants and good ski school. Limited night life in Galtur but charming ten pin bowling at sports centre. Outside ice-skating rink in village - melting by end of week. Skiing in Ishgl starts at top…

Skiing was limited for us - we skied every run by 2nd day lunchtime! However, this would be a fab resort for beginners with wide open runs well groomed. The "black" runs there would get a dark blue in most French resorts! Sun shone every day which was nice but more snow was needed by end of week. still very well maintained though. A few of the runs need some more thought as there are a number of bottlenecks where large queues build up although generally the lifts are not bad…
