I have worked in kitzbuhel before in the 2001/2002 season, I must say it is a good resort, with good apres, espeically the holzl and the londoner. I must point out though, the area is more for intermediate skiers and boarders. I am a boarder and I found most of it very flat and the only place that was worth going for advaced boarders was pass thurn, on a powder day this is where you wanted to be. eating out was good with the mexican a favourite for the seasonnaires and guests.

Valmorel is a great place for a family ski trip and we were blessed with great snow conditions all week, a nice mix of partly sunny days and 2 days of light snow and a heavy dump overnight. For beginners / intermediaries this resort is brilliant, loads of different runs, fantastic scenery, smashing mountain bars / restaurants. Reasonable prices, no lift queues. The snake gliss run at the end of the day is a must.

The variety of the terrain throughout Le Grand Massif is fantastic and the scope for off piste and its accessability looks outstanding. I would advise using a guide as we witnessed more avalanche debris on this trip than we had ever seen. Flaine itself is a bit sixties looking but from the mountain it blends in to the cliffs on that side of the valley.
