Visited Kitzbuhel for a week from 17-24th March 2007. Journey is short with only a 1hr 15m trf from Salzburg airport. The resort has a town feel to it and doesnt have the traditional ski resort feel Ive experienced elsewhere. The town doesnt have a great number of restaurants to visit. There are quite a few bars, but theyre scattered around, and the apres-ski vibe is pretty non-existant. Flaine the resort is a place that one will either appreciate for the inventive use of concrete or loath it. I thought that it blended well and while not a picture post card Tyrolian resort it has its own charm. Its a quiet resort and smaller than a lot of people imagine. Badgastein is where I learnt to ski some 25 years ago, and I still keep on going back. There is so much skiing in 6 areas (some linked like Badgastein/Angertal/Hofgastein & Dorfgastein/Grossarl)and 2 further areas - the Graukogel (including the World Cup runs) and the high altitude Sportgastein.
