I am an intermediate skier. The good things about Flaine: it's cheap(ish), there are a lot of pistes to explore, excellent kids ski school. The food is good but there are limited restauraunts. The lifts are good but they need to replace at least 2 or 3 drags with chairs! Creche facilities, look nice, but book well in advance, we had to hire a nanny for our youngest. The resort itself is ok - not much nightlife. The snow conditions were good and there were hardly any queues for the lifts. Overall Flaine does what it is known for, value for money family holidays with no frills but great skiing.
