The variety of the terrain throughout Le Grand Massif is fantastic and the scope for off piste and its accessability looks outstanding. I would advise using a guide as we witnessed more avalanche debris on this trip than we had ever seen. Flaine itself is a bit sixties looking but from the mountain it blends in to the cliffs on that side of the valley. We were there at the start of the French holidays and apart from the Sunday we found it quite quiet with the only real queue of about five minutes for the poma for the Jam park. There is something for everyone on the slopes of Flaine. If you are looking for lots of Apres then there is not a lot! We spent a night in the white bar which was good,
