We visited St Gervais in March 2008. Whilst we had a good time (stayed in apartments near the telecabine) the snow conditions were very poor and we will think again before returning to a low resort. Our timing was bad, but the slopes were not varied enough for our intermediate abilities. This would no doubt be a good resort for families (snow permitting) as it is quaint, has rustic restaurants and a charming old town. We didn't want much in the way of nightlife, but the place was pretty much deserted at night and the bars were quiet. We ended up going to Chamonix (Vallorcine is amazing!) for a few days where the snow/skiing was much better. Think again if you want any form of entertainment i
