The town is charming, the people are dlightful and very helpful, the lift system is good and skiing is good. The locals speak good English are are very happy to help at all times. There are 3 routes up the mountain. The Courmayeur cable car which takes 133 people per trip, the Dolone gondola which takes 10 per car and the Val Veny cable car which I did not use but appeared to be about the same size as the Courmayeur cable. Just back from Saas. Skiing - okay, but a bit limited below 2500m as lack of snow meant only one run to village open. Do a day at Saas Grund...great slopes and very sunny, whereas Saas Fee is cold and sun goes early. Village - very beautiful and charming, with all you could want. Accomodation - stayed at Hotel Allalin which was totally brilliant. Great views, food and staff. Very clean and service was excellent. Stayed at Club Med and had a great time. Perfect weather for 6 days so no problem with winds on top. The runs at Cervinia are great for lessons and the mountains are full of breathtaking views. No powder as the slopes are consistently groomed. Not safe for off-piste due to crevices on the glaciers. You have to plan your day to Zermatt as there is no way back, except up the lift. Overall, well worth a visit.
