Stayed in Plagne 1800 w/c 12th Jan. Amazing snow - very very lucky with conditions except they don't groom every night and it got really bumpy if you stayed away from the pistes that the ESF didn't use. Quiet resort with one good pub La Mine. Crystal Chalet Nicole enabled you to ski from the door in amazing conditions we were lucky to experience, fairly expensive on the mountain for food/drink due to poor pound, 12 euros for pasta, 4 euros for coke/coffee. I visited Auron last January. We had a wonderful experience. The snow was excellent, and the ski-domain is actually very large, with plenty of variety for different skier skills. The village is pleasant, with several good restaurants. A bit short of night-life however! Aside from one or two small bars. Not the scene for a crazy holiday, but good for families.
