Auron is great if you are beginner to intermediate. The runs are fun and varying, there are some really fun off-piste slopes too. I wouldn't necessarily go back though. I lived in Nice at the time, so it was great because it's only 1 1/2 hours drive from Nice. If you have high expectations of how your winter-holiday should be, don't go to Auron. The one advantage of Auron is, it's not as expensive as Courcheval for example, but then again, it's not as big! So it really depends on what you like. If you're in the south of France anyway, you can head up there for a fun day of boarding.
