Been riding now for a little over 7 years and in the last 6 have had a place over in Morzine. As the town itself is not a purpose built ski resort, it has managed to keep its charm as the village (or should I say, town) and isn't spoiled by tourism. The boarding over on the Pleney side isn't the greatest. Ideal for beginners etc and there are a few good off- pistes that you have to look out for (Pointe de Nyon, from the top, being one of them). As you head over to the Swiss (Avoriaz)…

Skiwelt is Austria's BIGGEST linked ski resort. Whilst it might not challenge advanced skiers, for most it is superb. Scheffau is a little quiet, but not everyone wants apres ski until 3am. If you're looking for a family holiday in a village with charm and character and very easy access to the slopes, Scheffau is beautiful.

Sauze d'Oulx (Via Lattea) is just great. Via Lattea offers so much skiing area, even if the lift system really needs to be updated. It was freezing on some of the chairs, I would have loved a bubble to keep the cold out, and if they were faster it would have helped too. Apres-ski is brilliant, prices good, atmosphere in the bars, live music, great restaurants, just cannot fault the resort at all
