Random ski resort reviews

Les Houches was quiet as were the pistes so there was plenty of room. The skiing was great and is better suited to early intermediates. I found the blue slopes were a bit too narrow and icy for beginners though. The pistes conditions were o.k. The kandahar run was brilliant and would probably be the only reason I would go back as it was probably the most enjoyable run I've ever done. I would recommend this resort for a long weekend as it's only about an hour and a half from Geneva…

Was worried that Mayrhofen at half term might be a nightmare but could not have been more wrong. The anticipated mass of school age skiers and boarders did not materialise and for the most part the slopes were uncrowded. Much is made in the Resort Guide about the queue for the Penken gondola, which can seem daunting, but if you keep to the outside "lane" you can normally get to the front within 10-15 minutes. Verbier bezocht in januari 2006. Het was duidelijk dat men in Verbier niet gewend is aan weinig sneeuw. Nagenoeg geen sneeuwkanonnen, waardoor de condities erg slecht waren. Wel werd voor alles de volle prijs gevraagd. Verbier was daarnaast enigszins voorzien van moderne liften, de rest van het gebied is ronduit waardeloos, veel sleepliften en slechte verbindingen. Voor ons kan Verbier en 4vallees niet tippen aan de grote skigebieden in Frankrijk.
