Ellmau is a charming typical Tirolean village. The atmosphere is one of relaxed easygoing locals and Dutch, lots of Dutch people. There are many good resturants and bars although it is not noted for its nightlife, however Soll is only a short taxi ride away. The skiing is good but not challenging and the Skiwelt as a whole is very suitable for beginners and improvers. The ski schools are also excellent with fluent english spoken and so making Ellmau great for familes, although not ...

Leuke plaats. Goed modern liftensysteem. Off piste was amazing for the first half of the holiday but unfortunately turned too icey towards the end. the night life was absolutely excellent and there was loads of choice-prices typical of french alps unfortunately. ...

This was my First Ski Resort many years ago an everytime we return I fall in love with it again. Its French and friendly. Good facilities a lovely mix of standard ski resort stuff e.g. ski wear shops, supermarche, a magic sweetie shop and weekly markets. Vilenieve and Chantlemerle are the 2 most resorty villages on the range but each has a little bit of ye-olde france tucked away. Briancion is the largest town and is at the lower end of the road. Very french. on the junction with the ...
