Natural snow depths were way below-average, but a good covering of manmade from their many snowguns meant roughly two-thirds of all slopes remained open during the week. The skiing is ideal for intermediates, with most runs being steepish blues or reds. However, beginners and experts should look elsewhere. There are few shallow pistes for newbies, while advanced riders will struggle to get excited about the handful of mediocre blacks and modest offpiste. The several ski areas, which are gladed and mildly pretty, fan out along the length of the valley, requiring occasional bus trips.
