Latest ski resort reviews

I went on a cold, windy day when the resort was lacking in snow, yet it wasnt all that bad. Its family-oriented, so expect long lines of wobbly kid skiers snaking down the mountain behind their "follow me" leader. Im a teacher by profession, but I could have done without the hazards of kids such as the one who not only attempted to sit in the same spot as my wife on the chairlift, but also became stuck at the stop and almost got the four of us dragged to death. Stayed in Les Houches in January 07 for 5 nights with two of our children who were beginners. Very busy but well organised ski school. Wouldnt recommend skiing in Les Houches if you are intermediate or above. We spent two of our days skiing here, which was more than enough. However, there is very good transport links to the remainder of the Chamonix valley which will keep all abilities adequately occupied.

This is an intermediates resort with a slow and un comfortable lift system and limited/confusing piste markings. The experienced will find there way around in a couple of days but I wouldn want to learn to Board or Ski in this resort. For the Skiing alone Id give it 8/10, include the lifts and its 6/10 add the resort itself and Id give it 4/10 as theres nothing to do except drink.
