It's Austria`s highest resort so the snow cover is excellent. It's only 40 minutes from Innsbruck Airport - my taxi was 60 euros each way. Easyjet are now flying to Innsbruck - so flights are cheap. No lift queues in the week. Free daily bus to the centre of Innsbruck. Hotels good - I stayed at the Silzerhof - very friendly,food good. Negative points: The highest lift goes to 2520metres so there is only 500mtrs of descent. You can ski all the pistes (40km) in just over a day. Busy on Saturdays especially if there's poor snow cover in lower local resorts, so i suggest a break from skiing and visit Innsbruck on the free bus. I went on a cold, windy day when the resort was lacking in snow, yet it wasnt all that bad. Its family-oriented, so expect long lines of wobbly kid skiers snaking down the mountain behind their "follow me" leader. Im a teacher by profession, but I could have done without the hazards of kids such as the one who not only attempted to sit in the same spot as my wife on the chairlift, but also became stuck at the stop and almost got the four of us dragged to death. But I exaggerate. Its a small, high-altitude place that looks like a lot of fun in the right conditions, especially given the wide, glacier- off-piste territory.
