Megeve is pretty town and quite Swiss/Russian focused. The shopping is the highlight; followed by the skiing in this and linked valleys. Good skiing. The town not pumping partywise. Shops good. Pricing is not cheap, but par the course of a swanky Alps resort. Skiing flatish as the bottom, but better up top. Nice resort but lots of strip clubs which is weird for a family resort. Hotels are a bit basic but overall fine as children enjoyed the pool, bowling etc. However, there was no snow. 90% of the runs were closed and you could see the grass and rocks coming up through the few flakes that were there. The top of the mountain was even worse as the high wind blew all the snow away. I saw just one piste basher in the entire week so not a lot of investment in the facilities which does not bode…

Skiing in Saint Gervais is pretty good, there is plenty to ski and some of it quite challenging. The upside for the low mountain myth, is that challenging terrain is pretty much empty, as beginners et al stick to lower runs. Food good and reasonable. Not far off the main road. Near Megeve and Chamonix. I would recommend this resort to young families. It is very quiet and relaxed, with beautiful scebery. This is definitely not a party town!
