Despite the height of the resort, since this is one of the most southerly in France (other than Pra-Loup and Isola 2000) it does enjoy reliably good weather. I understand it has one of the best sun records in the French Alps. The downside is, as you would expect, that regular deliveries of snow are not reliable. Das Schnalstal liegt in Italien im deutschsprachigen südtirol und gehört teilweise schon zu den ötztaler alpen. seit einigen jahren fahre ich mit meiner familie schon dorthin. Von dem Ferienort Naturns, der etwa 15 km von meran entfernt liegt, führt eine mittlerweile neu angelegte und sichere Straße zu dem wunderschönen schneeparadies. die talstation der Gletscherbahn liegt in etwa 2000 m höhe. Charming resort, very friendly people, good runs, if not the longest in europe! queues are very short, runs are well groomed, the slalom run in podkoren is very challenging at 47degrees. Plenty of bars and restaurants, cassino is good fun. Looking forward to our 3rd trip in january.
