Despite the height of the resort, since this is one of the most southerly in France (other than Pra-Loup and Isola 2000) it does enjoy reliably good weather. I understand it has one of the best sun records in the French Alps. The downside is, as you would expect, that regular deliveries of snow are not reliable. The other benefit of this southerly location is that the tree line is much higher than it is further North. Consequently much of the skiing is through the trees and very enjoyable in consequence.
