Don't come, you won't like it! Going for the fifth time soon. No lift queues, a decent variety of pistes, good snow record, no gangs of apres ski drunkards, really quiet, but with 7-8 really good restaurants (if you like Italian food). Oh, and the transfer isn't bad either. If you like killer nightlife, La Thuile is not for you. But If you want to ski and relax after with a beer or wine and have some quality food, book now!

A quiet resort with well cared for pistes. Tremendous views of Monte Bianco, Grand Jorasses and from the highest point, the Matterhorn (Monte Cervino). The journey to La Rossiere is wonderful with great pistes through a sort of no-mans land and sensational views - go early as the Rossiere pistes deteriorate in the sun by mid day. Best pistes are in La Thuile - the snow stays in good condition all day. Be sure to visit the Berthod restaurant on red 28, a superb Himalayan style sanctuary…

There's some good skiing at Flims - in the right conditions. It's a relatively low altitude which means that late season visits - like mine last year - will not get the best of it and runs to the valley will be extremely slushy. There are also too many T-bars. That said, the long black run off the back of the little glacier at the top of the resort is superb, and there is some good "yellow run" regulated but ungroomed terrain.
