We were at Kaprun over 1-7 Jan 2006. I was extremely impressed: together with Zell am See, Kaprun offers a fantastic range of skiing. The glacier area at Kaprun offers a great combination of blues/reds for the beginner and intermediate, whilst giving the expert extensive powder areas to play in. I was skiing on the kitzsteinhorn in february 2006. the lifts up were swift, and despite it being the school holidays there were few queues anywhere in the ski area - particularly compared to nearby zell-am-see. i have to say i was really impressed overall. plenty of good places to eat including a restaurant at over 3000m with amazing views. it hasn got much in the way of expert runs, but it has got a few excellent long and challengingred runs - i especially liked the red from the top…

Pretty little village! I find this still an expensive ski resort. This is a place for families and not one for the younger crowd. This resort has a great ski schule and the slopes are good for beginners. The slopes are north facing and are across the valley. The lifts are not convenient to the village so you have to take a bus if you are skiing.
