Whilst I wouldn say this is a beginners resort, once you have achieved a reasonable intermediate standard, its a great and varied place to ski. All runs are well linked though a little challenging for less experienced skiers as only route down on some lifts is red only.
Lovely, friendly little town with a variety of restaurants and bars.Great refreshment option on the slopes too and at very reasonable prices.

Alpine charm Few challenges for experts

The Winterreich Ski pass covers the 4 linked resorts of Maria Alm, Hintermoos, Dienten and Muhlbach. If this isn’t enough you can also buy a Ski Amade Pass that covers around 25 other resorts in the Salzburger Region. Hochkonig is also part of the Skiwelt Amade, giving you access to more than 850 kilometres of slopes. For French-style piste cruisers, the skiing is almost unlimited!! Maria Alm and especially Dienten are really well suited to a family skiing holiday or for older or younger loving couples! The ski slopes are not too difficult and the ski area has a sense of great tranquillity and space. Lively open air bars can be found at most of the ski bases where you can enjoy a post

I have skied around the world and I can say that Maria Alm is one of my favorite places. The village is traditional and clean, food is good, prices are reasonable, no queues at the lifts, friendly people, good apres-ski, and great skiing. One of the best kept secret ski resorts in Europe. Maria Alm is a quiet resort close to several others, part of the vast Ski Amade network and very handy for the glacier at Kaprun ( half hour+ ) when lower slopes are short of snow. I recommend the Alpenhof hotel, which is a short walk to the small ski area and across the street from the bus stop to Aberg.

Few challenges for experts No waiting at the lifts
