The skiing in Les Arcs is top notch for all abilities. There is plenty of it. The lifts are fast and queues pretty rare. It is also very French you do not hear all the English accents you here in Val dIsere or the 3 vallies. Apres ski is OK. In 1660, my personal favourite of the resorts, their is live music most evenings and a nice atmosphere. Chamonix offers every level of slopes, restaurants, shopping, history and amazing views. Don\'t miss the after ski crowd at Elevation bar, or the Terrasse. Stayed in a wonderful family owned hotel- Oustalet- a 5 min. walk to the centre. I took the small train over the Alps from Martigny Swittzerland. Beautiful old world experience. I am an extreme skier, and loved the vast opportunities of technical skiing, and the international crowd. Chamonix will be home for years.

It was freezing on some of the chairs, I would have loved a bubble to keep the cold out, and if they were faster it would have helped too. Apres-ski is brilliant, prices good, atmosphere in the bars, live music, great restaurants, just cannot fault the resort at all
