Les Carroz is a fantastic skiing area, just one hour from the airport, so beat that. 250+ km of slopes that are well groomed. The village itself is charming and friendly with enough restaurants and small bars to keep you going. Despite the low snow levels this year the skiing is excellent with the pistes being kept superbly. Great snow making machines so invariably abundant snow throughout the Grand Massif.

Tonale is not the prettiest of resorts, but if you can see past this it has lots to offer especially for beginners. A great and reasonably priced ski school (100 euro for 6*2hr lessons) lots of gentle blue runs to build confidence. Reasonably priced apres ski (dont go if you want wild apres ski parties ! What Davos excels at is the sheer number of mountains to ski. What lets Davos down is the sheer number of drag lifts across the entire resort.
