Pralognan may be a little smaller than the larger commercial resorts nearby, but it more than makes up for it with its other charms. The slopes are top quality, with some nice challenging blacks for the adventerous, varying right down to plenty of easy snow for the beginner. Prices are reasonable, and ski rental is easy - there are four or five places to buy or rent equipment in town, all of which will go out of their way to ensure you have the best gear they have. The views are…

Together with Vars it offers a great variety of pistes, and nice off-piste slopes. The snow conditions were quite OK (50-120cms), the temperatures were just around 0 celsius. The connections among the pistes are praising as well. Risoul is quite small, but very pleasant. You can ski to the door of most apartments (a great advantage after a days hard skiing!!). Apres ski is great with many activities, partying is fantastic especially chez Jeti bar.
