Courmayeur is a fantastic resort. There is something there for everyone. Although the beginners area is a little steeper than normal, as soon as your up and about there, there are endless runs to explore. Two tips, one down the back of the hill is Zerotta, great couple of restaurants with amazing views of Mont Blanc and really nice runs down. Ellmau is a charming typical Tirolean village. The atmosphere is one of relaxed easygoing locals and Dutch, lots of Dutch people. There are many good resturants and bars although it is not noted for its nightlife, however Soll is only a short taxi ride away. The skiing is good but not challenging and the Skiwelt as a whole is very suitable for beginners and improvers. The ski schools are also excellent with fluent english spoken and so making Ellmau great for familes, although not snow…

Wonderful austrian resort. Ideal for beginners and families. No english spoken as resort is dominated by german, austrian and dutch families. However this is not a problem as when you try to speak german, kind dutch holidaymakers help out. Very popular with Welsh skiers. Very pretty place. Good ski school (hermann maiers uncle). Ski pass covers the ski amade area which is excellent for experienced skiers .
