The resort suits intermediate skiers but the pistes offer both wide cruising and carving sections along with lots of bumps and narrow steep sections. Restaurant at the top of the mountain gets very busy at lunchtime. Get there before 12:30 and its fine any later and you queue for 30 mins to eat! I took my family to Courchevel 1650 for half term in February 2007. This is the third time we have been there so I consider myself a bit of an expert on this resort. We drive and arrive early on Saturday morning to get the best conditions and the most time on the snow. 1650 provides the combination of convenient ski to the door accommodation, quiet slopes and a lack of queues at reasonable cost. We Skied Levi 11th to 18th March 2007. This is the first week after the Finland holidays, so somewhat quieter than the proceeding weeks. If you are looking for a week of challenging hard skiing on Blacks, then this is not the resort. If however, you are looking for a week filled with cruising picturesque un-crowded slopes then this is the place.
