Th emost stunning scenery in this family orientated ski resort. You will go along way to find a more perfect place to ski if you ar ein a family group. We have spent the past 4 annual ski holidays in Val Thorens - various weeks between mid-Jan and early April. Snow quality has been uniformly good, lift system excellent, even better since the introduction of "electronic tagging" type passes. If you go in January, be prepared for seriously cold weather; we had -25C as a midday temperature at higher stations in 3rd week of January 2007 which was numbing to say the least! The Resort is ok, fairly cheap(if you make an effort) but snowconditions are not what I expected them to be like. I've been to les Deux alpes for 3 times and had a lot of fun being there. However, this resort would not even be in my top5. The run back to the village is terrible, it's a long path that becomes extremely crowded at the end of the day because there is no alternative. At the end you have a choice between a greenslope and a black one. In my opinion, the black one is much…
