Having spent most of of my previous holidays in most resorts in Europe, it was a joy to discover Abetone where the people are genuinly most kind and not out to take advantage. I have been there when I have been virtually the sole skier on the slopes with clear blue skies and excellent scenery, though on the Public holidays it can get busy but nowhere near as bad as I found on the better known resorts in Europe. My favorite thing about Flims Laax is the fact that after you catch the cable cars to the top of Cassons you can weave your way across the interconnected mountains all day then go back to Flims without skiing the same run twice! The skiing is so enjoyable, there are endless long pistes and groomed steep trails. There's not many places you can do that! Of course the entire place is run like clockwork, on the weekends it gets busy but the fast cable cars ensure that crowds disperse…

My stay in Flaine last year was excellent. The snow conditions were fantastic. I saw Flaine as a resort were beginners easily can learn to ski, as well for the advanced people, who gets steep red hills, and very dark black runs (like Diamant Noir, Gers). I also can recommend the off-piste, definitely in Combe de Gers. Concerning the lifts, Flaine is investing a lot in their infrastructure. Last year a new, fast 6 chairlift and the coming 2 years another 5 (3 Flaine, 2 Grand-massif).…
