Latest ski resort reviews

For almost 8 years we visit Schruns like once or twice a year. Schruns is part of the Montafon arena. It provides solid skiing. The snowcondition is one of the best in Austria. The slopes are not as crowded as in Ischgl or St. Anton for example. There are great off piste runs in Hochjoch and Gargellen. The atmosphere here is great. It's the alpine charm combined with nice apres ski. I strongly suggest giving it a try.

Saalbach Hinterglemm are two lovely austrian villages. Located in the glemmtal, close to Zell am See. It has an extensive ski arena: total of 200 km. The area is not very well connected though. It is hard to get from one side of the valley to the other (only possible in Saalbach), or to the other end of the valley (Leogang-Hinterglemm). It takes a lot of traversing, and many, many lifts. Just got back from Val Thorens. The conditions were excellent last week, with a thick layer of fresh snow and clear blue skies. I have to say it was very very crowded. Waiting time for the central gondola was more than 20 minutes! We stayed at Pierre en Vacances, right along the slopes. From the balcony we had a magnificent view over the mountains and slopes. The Trois Vallees ski area is unheard of. There are extensive tracks and modern lifts there. I like the village too, nice shops,…
