Superb, huge skiing area in the most beautiful mountain range I have skied in. Equipped with a modern lift system and promoting the concept of a tour from one area of the Dolomiti Super Ski to another. My wife is a timid intermediate skier and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves touring the Sella Ronda in both directions, going on the Santa Croce ski tour and the highlight was probably the Lagazoi tour past a frozen waterfall. A good venue for early season skiing accessible via easy driving with plenty of accommodation. Not sure I would go there for more then 3/4 days but when you need to go high early/late in the season it's well worth a visit. Not great for beginners as the blue runs on the glacier are only really accessible via reds. Good fast cable cars all the way up but you'll spend more time on T-bars than chairlifts after that.

The valley is a real gem - gorgeous old 15th century villages, largely unspoilt by modern development, charming locals and some truely great skiing. On piste there is 220km of groomed runs and plenty to challenge the average holiday skier. For those who enjoy off-piste the options are endless and seldom touched, so you find fresh powder days and…
