Meribel is right in the middle of the largest ski area in the world: The Trois Vallees. It isn't down market, but not too expensive like neighbouring Courchevel. The apres ski and entertainment (Jacks Bar, Rond Point, Altitude Festival) is superb. Lot's of brits here. Chalets are more fun than large tour operators, Meribel has the greatest choice.

I love Santa Caterina. It is a wonderful place to go skiing thanks to the stunning landscape and scenery. It really takes my breath away! I've been there for 5 years now and I've always felt home. People are wonderful, the town is a little corner of paradise and my children have always much fun! I highly recommend it!

Serre Chevalier is a great ski resort with very good snow conditions, a large ski area, and a good ski bus system, also free at night. The only negative point is the lack of night life.
