Great resort! You've got the best of both worlds, a rustic boutique resort with deserted pistes and no queue's on your doorstep or the hustle and bustle of the Morzine or Avoriaz 5 mins up the road. St Jean d'Aulps/Espace Roc d'Enfer has good skiing on all levels catered for. The resort itself is small, so everything is on your door step - bars, restaurants, ski hire, lifts. Highly recommended.

The resort is charming, the locals very welcoming, the skiing is varied and challenging and the restaurants serve wonderful food. We have stayed in the Alphof, the Alpbacherhof and the Berghof several times. They are all great. While Alpbach is a tiny resort, with limited runs, it's beautiful, friendly and just 40 minutes transfer from Innsbruck. We felt at home there, and our trip has turned us into ski fanatics. We are already looking to book for next year, and only wish we could fit…

We found Praz de Lys stunning. Empty slopes and a variety of pistes. There are 53 marked runs, four of them black. For the size of resort there seemed considerable opportunities for off piste skiing. The resort is clearly being developed with a number of new lifts. The bar restaurant we found Les Relais des Skieurs had the unsploit charm and prices of skiing years ago. Given its accessibility I would certainly consider Le Praz de Lys for a stay of 2 or 3 days.
