Leuke plaats. Goed modern liftensysteem.

Solden is a great ski resort, sometimes a bit crowded during Dutch and German holidays together. This is arbitrary because of the high standard of lifts. We normally go in March (for the previous 3 years.) Most of the days have good weather, with good temperatures. Snow at lower slopes sometimes a bit icy, but enough opportunities at higher parts of the resort, especially on the glacier. For me this is the number 1 ski resort in Austria, always security of good snow, at least at the glacier which offers about 25 km slopes. Try it out!

Just returned from a week beginning 28th December. Despite unusually poor snow conditions for the time of year I cant praise the ski area enough. There are extensive long runs served by the most efficient and comfortable lifts I have so far experienced in the Alps. The total kilometres feels longer than that stated because it is not padded with lots of the tedious linking blue tracks that you find in many resorts. We particularly enjoyed the Red 2 on Gaislachkogl, the Red 11 from Giggijoch to link to the Gaislachkogl area and the Red down to the village from Giggijoch. It is easy to put together long interesting circuits that give a great sense of travel for a minimum of lift time. The long

Solden is an absolutely wonderful place to ski. the ski area is large. a bit spread out. the more you get yourself familiar with the ski area, the more you like it. it is a skiers mountain, there are better choices if you are with a family. skiing on the double funitel when conditions are good is some of the best skiing in the alps. the glacier is a beautiful place to ski, with normally always good snow conditions. solden can get crowded, which can be a problem. the town is not the most attractive town in austria, but down the valley to langenfeld gives you a wonderful small town experience with a wonderful new spa.
