The Sankt Anton am Arlberg ski area in itself is quite small, but the connections make it a large area. The separate areas are connected by several lifts, you will spend a long time using lifts to get to another village. In addition, the connecting lift(s) are frequently closed by high winds, avalanche risk or downright lack of people. I find the area overrated, especially the Sankt Anton sector; there are nicer (more compact, but with at least as many kms) areas to be found in Austria (and France). The ski pass and restaurants are expensive. It is a very expensive resort altogether, and I many times wonder why...? Apres ski is also nothing special compared to Kirchberg or Saalbach. If you look purely at the skiing possibilities, then this is certainly not a top area for me...

Sankt Anton is supposed to be one of the top skiresorts in Europe. In fact it is fairly mainstream. This is not a good resort for beginners. It is well suited to intermediate to advanced skiers though. However it lacks serious off-piste opportunities. The village and slopes are nice looking, but large electricity-masts and communication equipement frustrate the views. Sankt Anton is an expensive destination, but offers you snow guaranteed!

St Anton is the home of extreme off piste powder riding, it is one of the most challenging resorts of all. The sheer expanse, the long groomed pistes, the endless off piste, open wide fields all extending over an area of 250 kilometers. I especially enjoy the natural rolls and gullies in the Schindlerkar area and the lower tree areas of the Schongraben area after a large snowfall. The village is as vibrant as the mountain, it never sleeps, I am not too sure how I manage it but when I am visiting St Anton I can always seem to be able to survive on about 3 hours sleep a night then ride all day.

St. Anton is a very famous skiing area. It is an amazing location because of its beautiful nature. You have endless opportunities for skiing different slopes and it takes a long time to learn to know the whole area. On the Arlberg there are always good snow conditions mostly the best in the Tyrolean mountains. Therefore it is also a freeride Eldorado where you have very long steep powderruns. At the end of the day many slopes are full with moguls what makes it difficult for beginners to go by ski down to the valley. So perhaps for families it is not a so good skiing area. If you want to change the area when you are located in St. Anton you can go to Lech or Zürs which are also very famous fo

Echt een geweldig gebied voor gevorderden, voor kids is er niks helaas. Als je een dag niet gaat skieen is het ook super, leuke winkels barretjes eettentjes... En natuurlijk even overstappen naar Lech wat ook een super gebied is.
