Random ski resort reviews

The local ski area covers the resort of Marilleva (probably the ugliest ski station I've encountered). The skiing area can be greatly increased by buying the extended Madonna pass or the Bretna Skirama lift pass. I would describe the skiing as on the easy side of intermediate with little in the way of real challenge. The area suffers from a couple of bottle necks and old 2 man chairlifts. Grossarl is a beautiful place in a special landscape not only in winter also in summer for walking. The ski area is also connected with the area of Dorfgastein so you have a huge and very interesting area for skiing. You can buy for the whole Gasteinertal one ski pass so you can change the areas, but each area is big and interesting enough for itself. Most of the slopes are red and blue. Charming resort, very friendly people, good runs, if not the longest in europe! queues are very short, runs are well groomed, the slalom run in podkoren is very challenging at 47degrees. Plenty of bars and restaurants, cassino is good fun. Looking forward to our 3rd trip in january.
