Random ski resort reviews

A truly luxury resort, literally ski to door but make sure you pick a hotel in the centre, fabulous top class hotels and cusine. Not many shops, mostly hotels and a few good resturaunts. Very good friendly service everywhere we went. We did a white week which includes the lift pass, very good value for money as this resort goes out of most peoples reach around Christmas and new year weeks. Snow level and quality was excellent for early season and weather was blue skies apart from New Years Eve, where we were treated to 15cm dump of snow plus Fireworks !!!. The resort is very French and is extremely pretty. All 5 ski areas arrive back into the resort, which is ideal for meeting up and even though the skiing may not test expert skiers too much, it is more than enough for most mere mortals. La Balme has the best quality snow, being the highest and most shaded area. Probably…

Megeve is a resort with little ambience. It is an expensive resort regarding what it has to offer. In restaurants in the town the wine was very expensive and prices in many of the mountain bars are astronomical. I would suggest nearby Combloux or Les Contamines.
