Just back from a week in Selva Gardena and had a fantastic holiday. For a half term week the resort was busy but very few queues - only those at connections for those doing the sella ronda, and these were only at certain times of the day. Skiing was excellent on well groomed pistes in bright sunshine. Mostly cruising runs, a bit of variety with only occassional black to test advanced skiers but ideal for our mixed group of skiers. My family and I have been going to Filzmoos for the last eighten years staying at the family run hotel Alpenkrone. It is a a superb holiday resort. it caters for absolute beginners to the intermediates. Although it does have a lot of runs it can be limited for the more adventurous but a quick bus ride to flachau or one of the neighbouring resorts will allow everyones needs to be catered for. I've been going to Val Gardena for the past six years along with the same people and it's sort of grown into a "second home from home", except at 3200 metres. Val Gardena must be one of the most beautiful places to go snowboarding.
